Managing Director

At Baumgart Clark Architects John brings strong directorial and leadership skills developed through substantial project experience over more than 35 years. His role as key lead architect on numerous award-winning projects has been recognised while he was at Williams Boag Architects, prior to establishing BCA, through the receipt of the Victorian Architecture Medal and the Joseph Reed Award for Urban Design.

John has focused on building significant advisory relationships with individuals and groups in the delivery of great results with tangible quality in all of the firm’s built projects. He has specialised in work with student and social housing  providers for more than two decades, understanding the special requirements of the sector.

Supplementing his work history, John was a Board Member at Genazzano FCJ College for 6 years between 2002 and 2008. Integral to John’s approach while on the Board, and in his work, is an engaged and ongoing involvement in each project. John works closely with the client to ensure the highest level of professional advice is maintained from project inception to completion. John is known by his clients as a trusted advisor with deep expertise and a strategic mind. 

Director

Marcus has worked in the industry for over 27 years, and has a number of strings in his bow, including 24 years of freelance design journalism and expertise in Youth Foyer design and architectural communications, among other specialisations.

Marcus has worked with non-profits in Australia and the United Kingdom on the complex issue of youth and other forms of homelessness, responding with empathy and insight.

Marcus leads the design process in the practice. He has worked alongside Managing Director John Clark for 25 years.

Kirsten has 37 plus years of practice experience and is a skilled registered architect with a high degree of technical and design capability. Kirsten mentors less experienced staff and has involvement in most of the practice’s major projects.

Hiệp is a Graduate of Masters of Architecture with highly refined design, sketching and visualisation skills. He has a qualification in interior design and provides design leadership in the Studio.

Natalie Widera is a registered architect with considerable experience. She is the Studio Lead for ACT/NSW, based in the Canberra office.

After working for several years in the ACT/NSW studio of BCA, Lucy returned to England to head up our operations in the UK. She is based in Oxford, UK.
