Youth Foyers are a unique type of structure, aimed at ending the phenomenon of Youth Homelessness. We have been collaborating with the Foyer Foundation to create an exciting new document, a comprehensive Design Guidelines for Youth Foyers. In this document we share our rules of thumb and first principles for the design of this exciting, and highly effective, supportive accommodation type.

Our Collaboration with the Foyer Federation (United Kingdom)
The Foyer Federation in the United Kingdom is an authority and compliance association committed since 1992 to breaking the cycle of youth homelessness. The Federation provides resources, outreach and guidance for the operators and creators of Youth Foyers in the UK. In 2026, we have worked closely with the Foyer Federation to develop the document “Adapting Existing Buildings for Youth Foyers: A Practical Guide to Retrofitting & Repurposing.”
