Education - Create a backdrop for selfies and formal photographs on Graduation Days
Mount Helen Campus, Victoria - 2017
This playful project had a unique brief - create a feature in the landscape that encouraged ‘selfies’ and group and individual portraits on Graduation Day at the Mount Helen Campus of Federation University. By using regionally sourced bluestone from Western Victoria, we created a three-wall feature on a figured, patterned ground plane depicting the Southern Cross constellation, signifying the entry and front door of the campus. The design was partly inspired by the famous Campidoglio in Rome, albeit on a modest scale. The project has fulfilled its unusual brief, and is used for photography backdrops by staff and students as intended.
